The new totalitarian left has come to resemble their ideological inspirations from the Russia of the early 20th century that paved the path for the vicious repression of Joseph Stalin along with his show trials, false accusations, exile to the gulags and wanton thuggery.
Now it is possible that the Democrats have their own “Uncle Joe” in former Vice President Joe Biden who dialed up the hateful rhetoric to 10 over the weekend as he seeks to remain a player for the 2020 presidential nomination.
Biden and his wife Jill spoke before high-rolling liberals at the annual Human Rights Watch dinner in Washington D.C. and unofficially launched his campaign by attacking 63 million Americans as unworthy and subhuman because they chose to exercise their right to vote and cast their votes for President Trump.
Biden echoed Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” when he ripped Trump supporters as the “dregs of society” which brought down the house.
As Biden began his speech, a few people in the crowd yelled ‘Run Joe!’ He replied: ‘Thank you.’
He also used his remarks to rally the crowd to ‘demand more of our leaders.’
‘What has become of us?’ he said. ‘Our children are listening and our silence is complicit.’
He also told the crowd of LBGT supporters that they have a fight ahead of them, point out it’s those against them who have a friend in the Trump.
‘Some of them are the dregs of society,’ Biden said. ‘They, not you, have an ally in the White House.’
‘Those who try to excuse this kind of prejudice in the name of culture, I say, ‘Prejudice is prejudice and humanity is humanity — it is a crime,’ Biden said, urging those to oppose Trump to stay engaged. ‘Our work is not yet done by any stretch of the imagination. The stakes are much too high.’
‘This is deadly earnest, we are in a fight for America’s soul,’ he said.
Both Bidens were met with tremendous applause and goodwill from the heavily Democratic crowd.
During his speech, Biden addressed his decision to speak out against the Trump administration, noting that he and former President Barack Obama had previously agreed to “remain silent” to give the government a chance to “get up and running.”
“God forgive me,” the former vice president said, appearing to lament the decision.
Biden said it was the events of August 2017 in Charlottesville, Virginia, which saw 32-year-old Heather Heyer killed while counter-protesting against a “Unite the Right” rally led by white supremacists, that forced him to break his silence.
“We have leaders who at the time when that occurred when these guys were accompanied by white supremacists and Ku Klux Klan … making a comparison saying there are good people in both groups,” the former vice president said, referring to Trump’s comments in the wake of the tragedy, claiming that there were “fine people on both sides” of the protests.
“What has become of us? Our children are listening. Our silence is complicity,” Biden said.
It was more of the same divisive garbage that Democrats have used to pit Americans against each other using identity politics that became their bread and butter during the horrors of the Obama years and such rhetoric continues to contribute to a swirling climate of danger that is eventually going to end up with people being killed.
The president’s son, Don Jr. took to Twitter to call out Foghorn Leghorn Biden:
Biden’s speech would have fit perfectly in a 1920s German beer hall but it is treading a very thin line and could be considered to be un-American by some but it should earn Creepy Joe lots of cred with his party’s big donors if they decide that Kamala Harris isn’t ready for the big leagues yet.
